Who we are
Refina (“we”, “us”) provides a Shopify app that helps shoppers find the right products via search, recommendations, and AI-driven guidance.
What we collect
Store data from Shopify: products, collections, media, tags, basic shop profile; limited order metadata where permissions are granted.
End-user interactions: search queries, clicks, impressions, feedback, and device/locale info to improve relevance.
Technical logs: IP address, user agent, timestamps, request IDs, and error logs for security and troubleshooting.
How we use data
Provide and improve core features (search, recommendations, analytics).
Secure the service, prevent abuse, and ensure reliability.
Comply with legal obligations and platform policies.
Sharing
We don’t sell personal data. We use trusted sub-processors (e.g., hosting, databases, observability, and AI providers) under data-processing terms and only for the purposes above.
Legal basis
Where applicable (e.g., GDPR), we process data to perform our contract with merchants, for our legitimate interests (improving and securing the service), and to comply with legal obligations.
Retention
We keep data only as long as necessary to provide the service or as required by law. Merchants may request earlier deletion (see “Data deletion” below).
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data. Merchants can exercise these for their store data; end users should contact the merchant or us.
Cookies & tracking
We use essential cookies and similar technologies for session management, security, and analytics. You can control non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
International transfers
Data may be processed in regions where we or our sub-processors operate. We use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Security
Encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and routine reviews. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Our services aren’t directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age of consent in your region).
Data deletion
Merchants: uninstalling the app revokes future access. To request deletion of stored data (including historical logs/analytics), email us from your store owner email and include your myshopify.com domain. We’ll confirm and complete deletion within 30 days (unless a longer period is required by law).
Shoppers: contact the merchant directly or email us with details of your interaction so we can assist.
