Terms of Service – Chooze by Refina

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Chooze by Refina (the “Mini”) and any related services provided by Refina / I Am App Builders (collectively, “Refina”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using Chooze in the Shop app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Chooze.
1. What Chooze does (Service description)
Chooze by Refina is a shopping assistant that helps you:
View products surfaced by the Shop app,
Rank and compare similar products using information such as ratings, reviews, and price,
See short, human-readable explanations of why certain products may be a better match.
Chooze uses a combination of simple scoring logic and AI-generated text to provide explanations. We do not sell or ship products ourselves. Any purchase you make is between you and the relevant merchant (for example, a Shopify store).
Chooze does not provide medical, financial, or professional advice. Any product suggestions or explanations are for informational and convenience purposes only.
2. Who may use Chooze
You may use Chooze only if:
You are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or you have permission from a parent or legal guardian, and
You have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
Your use of the Shop app itself is governed by Shopify’s own terms and policies, which are separate from these Terms.
3. How Chooze uses data
When you use Chooze, we may receive certain information, for example:
The search terms or questions you type,
Signals about products shown to you (such as IDs, price, ratings, or shop name),
Your interactions inside the Mini (such as which products you compare or tap on).
This information is used to:
Generate explanations using our
/mini/explainbackend endpoint,Improve the quality, relevance, and safety of Chooze over time,
Diagnose and fix technical issues.

By using Chooze, you agree that we may process your data as described there.
4. Third-party services and content
Chooze runs inside the Shop app and interacts with products and merchants that are not owned or controlled by us.
Product information (images, descriptions, pricing, availability, ratings, and reviews) is provided by merchants and/or Shopify, not by Refina.
We do not guarantee that product details are accurate, complete, or up-to-date.
Any purchase, return, refund, or dispute is between you and the relevant merchant, under their terms and policies.
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify beyond participating in the Shop Minis platform.
5. AI-generated content and recommendations
Chooze uses AI to help explain and compare products. This means:
Explanations are generated automatically and may occasionally be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.
Recommendations are suggestions only based on available information (for example, tags, ratings, price) and your inputs.
You are responsible for reviewing product details, checking ingredients or materials, and deciding whether a product is right for you.
You should not rely on Chooze for:
Medical decisions, diagnosis, or treatment,
Safety-critical decisions,
Legal, financial, or professional advice.
Always consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
Use Chooze in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations,
Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Mini, its backend services, or the Shop app,
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code of Chooze or our backend,
Use Chooze to send, share, or generate content that is illegal, harmful, or abusive.
We may suspend or restrict access to Chooze if we believe you are violating these Terms or misusing the service.
7. Intellectual property
Chooze, including its design, branding, logic, and AI prompts, is owned by Refina / I Am App Builders or licensed to us.
You may use Chooze only as permitted by these Terms and by the Shop app.
You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of Chooze or its explanations, except as necessary for your personal, non-commercial use within the app.
All third-party trademarks, logos, and product images remain the property of their respective owners.
8. No warranties
Chooze is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not make any promises or warranties that:
Chooze will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free,
Product information is accurate, complete, or current,
Explanations or recommendations will meet your expectations or needs,
Chooze will prevent you from making a bad purchase.
You use Chooze at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Refina, I Am App Builders, and our directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of or related to your use of Chooze.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to Chooze shall not exceed the greater of:
(a) the amount you have paid us (if any) for use of Chooze in the past 12 months, or
(b) AUD $50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
10. Changes to Chooze or these Terms
We may:
Update or change Chooze (features, design, or functionality),
Modify these Terms from time to time.
If we make significant changes, we may update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Shop app or our website.
By continuing to use Chooze after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of Chooze shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia.
